At Adam Khoo Learning Centre, inspiring people around us goes beyond classroom and exam results. Our closely knitted community of trainers, executives, students and parents organise and participate in regular outreaches to do our humble bit for the venerable young and old of our society.

 

NTUC Health Nursing Home

NTUC Health Co-operative Limited (NTUC Health) is an NTUC social enterprise that provides quality and affordable health and eldercare services. Through its nursing homes and senior care centres, NTUC Health runs services such as home care and community support for vulnerable seniors.

AKLC is proud to organise social outreaches consisting of delicious buffets, games and karaoke sessions to these homes and do our humble bits to bring joys and laughter to the elderly residing in these homes.

Project We Care

Established in 2012, Project We Care is an initiative led by the private sector and the People’s Association (PA) to encourage corporate giving and volunteerism in Singapore. It engages sector CEOs and Business Leaders to rally their employees to contribute towards meaningful causes in the community.

AKLC is also proud to be part of Project We Care Jalan with your Buddy by sponsoring 100 sets of fans for the needy as well as deploying our team to help out as booth managers, shopping buddies and assistants during the event.

Project C.A.N.

Project C.A.N. stands for Project Collection in Aid of the Needy, and is one of the seven Special Projects under National University of Singapore (NUS) Students’ Community Service Club (NUS CSC). It is an annual project started in year 2004. The aim of the project is to provide relief to the needy in the form of food rations, daily necessities and basic services and raise awareness of the less fortunate in the community among the general public and the NUS population. AKLC is proud to support the cause of Project C.A.N. by sponsoring cash for the organising committee to purchase essentials for the beneficiaries.

Beyond Social Service

Beyond is a Voluntary Welfare Organisation (VWO) that helps to nurture a positive environment where children/youths feel a sense of belonging so they don’t feel the need to turn to negative influences. They ’ve reached out to over 10,000 rental units in government rental blocks in Bukit Ho Swee, Lengkok Bahru, Henderson, Whampoa, Ang Mo Kio, Lavender, Stirling, Jalan Bukit Merah and Ghim Moh.

AKLC is proud to organise an all-expenses paid amazing race at Singapore Science Centre for a group these families where the kids and the parents too enjoyed themselves especially the ones that had prizes as it is not too often that they get to go to such outings.

NTUC U Care

The We Care for U Project is one of the key initiatives of NTUC Women’s Development Secretariat with the objective to reach out to and assist single mums to build greater resilience and independence through various intervention programmes run by the Department. To provide a holistic support for mums and their children, The Project partners with organisations to make known to single mums on the available assistance programmes in these organizations.

AKLC is proud to work though NTUC Card Membership department to support Single mums with easy access to our annual PSLE Seminar held in June school holidays and ensure their children receive the best preparation for arguably the biggest test of their primary school journey.

Chinese Development Assistance Council

Jointly set up by the Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations (SFCCA) and Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCCI) in 1992, the Chinese Development Assistance Council (CDAC) is a non-profit self-help group that offers programmes and assistance schemes to help the less privileged in the community to maximise their potential and strive for social mobility through self-help and mutual support. Yayasan MENDAKI

Yayasan MENDAKI (Council for the Development of Singapore Malay/Muslim Community) is a pioneer Self-Help Group formed in 1982 dedicated to empower the community through excellence in education, in the context of a multi-racial and multi-religious Singapore. MENDAKI’s programmes largely target the bottom 30 per cent of the Malay/Muslim population and are therefore highly subsidised.
